Hair client, Lori, turned to THE LOFT Salon this week because a salon across town gave her the worst hair cut she had ever received in her life. Below is what Lori said about how Kylee Valentine at The Loft fixed the disaster.
" I just wanted to give a special thanks to Kylee Valentine. (pictured left) Not only did she turn my bad hair cut around, but she definitely convinced me that anything that looks screwed up can be fixed at The Loft! My experience at The Loft was relaxing. I walked in almost afraid to let anyone touch my hair after I received the worst hair cut of my life [from another salon] and I walked out feeling like a brand new person. The great thing about all of this is I’m definitely NOT exaggerating the story one bit. When the girls at The Loft got a load of my hair cut they flipped their lids so to speak…so anybody who has been through this kind of experience can understand the thanks I want to bestow upon the person who saved my day! QUESTION: HOW CAN I KEEP MY LASH EXTENSIONS LOOK GREAT LONGER?
So you went to The Loft Hair and Nail Sa lon in Tuscaloosa and walked out with the lashes you have always wanted! You now have longer, fuller, weightless lashes simply because you received The Loft Salon’s signature Novalash service… Tuscaloosa’s only professional lash extension service that uses doctor-formulated, formaldehyde free , and pharmaceutical grade materials certified and tested in the USA by the Cosmetic Extended Wear Association!
So how do you keep those lashes looking their best? Check out the Novalash aftercare instructions below!
- Do not expose your Novalash eyelash extensions to water for at least 12 to 24 hours after they are applied to your natural lashes. If you wash your face within 24 hours after your Novalashes are applied avoid splashing water or getting facial cleansers around the eye area. Do not swim, shower, use hot tubs, or steam rooms for the first 12 to 24 hours.
- Avoid contact between moisturizers, eye creams, or makeup removers and the Novalash eyelash extensions. Any cosmetic product or cleanser containing glycols, organic solvents, alcohol, or urea should be avoided. Products such as these can potentially break down the adhesive bond and shorten the duration of time the extensions stay on.
- Use only Novalash approved water-soluble mascara on your eyelash extensions. Waterproof mascara should not be used. Repeated use of mascara may shorten the lifespan of Novalash eyelash extensions.
- Curling of Novalash eyelash extensions is not recommended. Because the eyelash extensions come pre-curled, additional curling is not necessary and doing so may shorten the lifespan of the extensions by compromising the adhesive bond.
- Avoid rubbing your eyes or pulling on your Novalash eyelash extensions. Any action with repeatedly puts stress or strain on your Novalash eyelash extensions will cause them to come off prematurely.
- Eyelashes are normally shed on a regular basis, thus multiple extensions may be lost on any given day.
- Visit your Novalash eyelash extension technician for touch-ups every 3 to 4 weeks to maintain your fuller longer lash line!
Bottom Line: Treat your Novalash eyelash extensions with care by accommodating their needs! NO water and steam for the first 24 hours. NO mascara unless you really want it. NO eyelash curling. NO eye rubbing. USE ONLY gentle cleansers around the eye area. If you can follow these simple recommendations your eyelash extensions can do their job longer!

Guy Talk Product Review : Redken For Men Cool Finish Conditioner
When it comes to this Minty scented conditioner our guys gave it a collective two thumbs up. Between all the video gaming, movie watching, and interwebs looking (guy talk for ‘internet surfing’) they managed to get the job done and use their assigned product so they could share a helpfully insightful men’s product experience with the rest of the world.
Alright world! It’s time to Guy Talk about Redken for Men’s protein and peppermint infused conditioner, Cool Finish! (applause appreciated.)
"I like that mint stuff." If that isn’t a guy type answer I don’t what is. Dane, an electronic music-loving sarcastic shaggy blond, is one of BamaSalons.com’s newest Guy Talk contributors. We put him to work first thing and gave him Cool Finish Invigorating Conditioner , a mint fused conditioner by Redken for Men. A couple days later our blond bombshell meets us before his date with a new chick.
"My hair smells like it now…see?" Dane leans his head towards my nose and I pick up a very faint minty scent. I reply with an enthusiastic "Yeah, I can kinda smell mintiness but it’s very slight." He says, "Well, I think it’s good. It doesn’t make my hair feel greasy," He gives his hair a stroke. "Yeah. I like that mint shampoo."
"Conditioner," I say.
Dane responds, "Yeah, that too…that’s what I said."
I asked Clay, a veteran BamaSalons Guy, "You liked it?"
"Oh yeah. Alot, " he whole-heartedly responded. I waited to see if he would elaborate. Apparently those three words were the most detailed answer I would get because the guys all shook their heads in solid agreement.
Realizing I was going to have to probe a bit further I inquired further. "Would you use the conditioner again?"
"Um yeah. I would." Again the singular nod waves over the small crowd.
I made my final attempt. "What would you say to other guys about it?"
Clay thought a second and responded, "I’d use it everyday."
Brett said soon after, "Men are simple creatures give them something that smells good and feels fun and they will buy it. Especially this conditioner."
Well at least it was somewhat insightful.
The BamaSalons Bottom Line: Ummm… A happy man is a minty man? So that means Cool Finish makes men happy! Duh! Truly though…This minty conditioner is great. That’s the story and the guys are sticking to it.
