Planet Beach Tanning Salon Questions and Answers

Q. How Does Planet Beach keep my skin from looking like a lobster?

A. Here at Planet beach we do a skin analysis on each of our clients an according on how you score is how long you will stay in the tanning unit. Controlled tanning times!


Q. Why do I need to wear eye protection?

A. Eye protection is one of the most important necessities in the tanning bed. Your eye lid is very thin and by just closing your eyes or covering you face with a towel can burn your eye and cause damage to your eyes. Such as diminishing your color vision, tissue can be damaged, night vision lost, and cataracts.


Q. Why do I need to have my own eye wear?

A. Here at planet Beach cleanliness is our number 1 rule and if we supplied eye wear we would be going against that rule. Wearing eye wear that has not been properly clean can cause Conjunctivitis or pink eye, this requires medical attention and can be very uncomfortable.


Q. What kind of bulbs are used at Planet Beach?

A. We use the top of the line lamps, Wolf lamps are in all of our beds, VIP and Platinum have Bronzing Lamps, reflecting lamps, and Facial lamps, our platinum bed also has a shoulder tanner.


Q. I know at most salons all there beds look the same but have different tan times and I get confused at what bed I am suppose to be using, is there away to tell what beds are what?

A. Yes, here at planet beach we have levels, our beds all look different, they range from small, med. To large.


Q. Can I tan in the nude?

A. Most of our clients do tan in the nude however if you don’t fill comfortable doing so we suggest bringing your bathing suit.


Q. Do I do a MysticTan in the nude?

A. Again Most of our clients do but if you do not feel comfortable doing so we suggest bringing an old bathing suit.


Q. I have bought memberships in the past that I only tanned one time the entire month and really wasted my money, do you have any alternatives?

A. Yes, here at planet beach for our EFT members if you are drafted and are unable to tan or jus don’t have time we can put your membership on a freeze in 30 increments, you will not lose that month you paid for you will get it back. Doesn’t that sound great!!


Q. What kind of products do you carry?

A. Planet Beach offers Swedish beauty, Australian Gold, Planet Beach and Designer Skin. We promise we can find you a lotion to best suit your skin type.


Q. Why are lotions sold at your salon better than the drug stores?

A. Over-the-counter lotions do not contain the necessary ingredients that will maximize your tanning results and extend the life of your tan. Moreover, mass market products do not replenish as effectively any lost moisturization that occurs during the tanning process. Lotions purchased at a salon are “bio-engineered” specifically for indoor tanning.


Q. I think I tan better without a lotion. So why should I use one?

A. This erroneous belief can be easily rectified once clients actually understand the tanning process. For example, indoor tanning and UV exposure can be dehydrating to the skin. Planet Beach lotions will help to replenish any moisture that has been depleted during the tanning session, thereby improving your results. Not only will you get a darker tan, you will tan more quickly and it will last longer.


Q. I can’t feel the tingle in my lotion anymore, am I still getting a tan?

A. If you are an avoid tingle tanner, oftentimes your skin acclimates to the tingle and you won’t feel the sensation anymore. Despite this fact, the tingle is still working even if you are not feeling the heat. As with hair care products, we recommend switching products to jump start your tan.
